The Peregrine Consort was organized in 1998 by American soprano
Amy Elizabeth Wheeler as a consortium of distinguished freelance baroque musicians led by Swedish violinist Maria Lindal. The ensemble was comprised of artists from the Drottingholm Slotts Teater, the Stockholm Baroque Soloists, the Warsaw Chamber Opera, Concerto Copenhagen, and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Wheeler researched repertoire from unpublished manuscript sources and modern published editions for concert programs which featured popular and rediscovered works for the church and the stage by Italian, German and English composers from the 16th, 17th and 18th Centuries.
